William “Stuart” Pope, an associate clinical professor in Auburn’s College of Nursing, passed away on Nov. 22. He was 72.
Pope specialized in animal-assisted therapy and was the founder of the college’s CAREing Paws program. He earned a Bachelor of Science in nursing from Auburn University at Montgomery and master’s and doctoral degrees from Samford University. Pope joined the Auburn faculty in 2009.
In honor of his memory, donations can be made to the Auburn University College of Nursing.
