Auburn University alumni James W. Rane and Don Logan have been selected as Lifetime Achievement recipients at the second annual Business Alabama Awards on March 1.
Rane, an Auburn Board of Trustees member, received his bachelor’s degree from Auburn in business administration in 1968, while Logan graduated with a bachelor’s in mathematics in 1966. Both Auburn men have continued on to receive several other degrees and distinguished awards.
Rane, an Alabama Sports Hall of Fame member, is president and CEO of Great Southern Wood Holdings, the producers of the YellaWood brand pressure-treated pine products. President of the Jimmy Rane Foundation, he has given college scholarships to more than 600 students. He is the recipient of the John Stallings Award for his work done on behalf of people with special needs.
Logan is a past recipient of the Auburn Alumni Lifetime Achievement Award and a member of the Alabama Academy of Honor. He was chairman and CEO of Southern Progress, chairman of Time Warner’s Media and Communications Group and an owner of the Birmingham Barons and the B.A.S.S. organization. He is the recipient of the Henry Johnson Fisher Award, which is the magazine industry’s highest honor.
Rane and Logan will be recognized at the Business Alabama Awards along with Lonnie Johnson and Frank and Pardis Stitt.
