The Office of Sustainability and the Samuel Ginn College of Engineering present “Climate Change: A Story of Opportunities and Possibilities to Reverse Global Warming” with Jonathan Foley, Ph.D., executive director of Project Drawdown, as part of the 2024 Sustainability Speaker Series.
The presentation will take place Monday, March 18, in the Langdon Hall Auditorium from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
Climate experts created Project Drawdown to determine what it would take to reverse global warming, resulting in the most comprehensive plan ever created to achieve that goal. Foley will present Project Drawdown’s exciting findings, which show it is possible to restore a livable, stable climate, meaning climate change need not be a story of doom and gloom. Furthermore, resolving the climate crisis will generate an abundance of additional social, economic and environmental benefits for people and the planet.
Foley is a world-renowned environmental scientist, sustainability expert, author and public speaker. His work focuses on understanding our changing planet and finding new solutions that regenerate and transform the social, environmental and economic systems upon which we depend.
