Chris Martin, assistant clinical professor in Auburn's College of Nursing, has been named a 2024 Macy Faculty Scholar by the Josiah Macy Jr. Foundation. The Macy Faculty Scholars Program is designed to identify and nurture the careers of promising educators in medicine and nursing.
As a scholar, Martin will spend the next two years developing a blueprint for the use of community engagement as a teaching strategy to advance equity, diversity and and belonging, enhance interprofessional education and expose underrepresented groups to the field of nursing as a viable career option. He will have access to mentorship, training and the support of a broad network of Macy Faculty Scholars. Linda Gibson-Young, professor and outreach coordinator in the College of Nursing, will serve as Martin’s mentor.
