Four employees have been recognized as Spirit of Excellence recipients for their contributions to Auburn University.
Melanie Hall, Bookstore Administrator, AVP, Budgets and Business Operations
“I work closely with Melanie for student-athletes who are on full scholarship to secure their required course materials, and she goes over and beyond to accommodate their needs. Her hard work and dedication to providing top-quality customer service no matter the request truly exemplifies what George Petrie meant when he wrote, ‘I believe in the human touch, which cultivates sympathy with my fellow men and mutual helpfulness and brings happiness for all,’” Hall’s nominator wrote. “Melanie makes a significant contribution to the Campus Bookstore and University through selfless service to ensure students have the required resources in a timely manner so they can be successful in their academic studies.”
Nathan Phillips, Facilities, Service/Maintenance
“Nathan is always very professional and friendly. He is mindful of others around him and is very respectful of others. When Nathan came in to do a job, he checked in to make sure that the system would personally work for us,” Phillips’ nominator said. “Nathan is an asset to the university because he performs his job with a level of excellence and servitude. You know that he enjoys the work he does. He has a great attitude and is very approachable.”
Melissa Gore, College of Agriculture, Office Administration/Professional
“We are one of the top units in the College for research productivity. And, that could only happen because of the dedication of Missy to our unit. Missy is committed to improving her ability to effectively manage our grants,” Gore’s nominator said. “She is now one of only two accountants in the College with more than two years’ experience in their position. She is well respected by the College and the other accountants and seen as a mentor and resource for the new accountants.”
Nabeel Rawajfih, College of Engineering, Technical/Paraprofessional
“Nabeel is the backbone of our department. He has continuously gone above and beyond what most would expect a single person to do. His expertise in information technology and information systems and his willingness to assist others and provide guidance to his team has been an absolute cornerstone for the Engineering IT department,” Rawajfih’s nominator said. “He is a pillar that holds this department up. He never seeks credit or recognition, but he contributes so much to the College of Engineering.”
