The Office of International Programs, in partnership with the Biggio Center for the Enhancement of Teaching and Learning and the Auburn University Libraries, is launching a pilot program to bring Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) into Auburn's core courses to facilitate the development of global literacy for every Auburn student. COIL brings together students from different parts of the world to take part in collaborative projects and discussions through the use of technology. OIP will select two faculty members to incorporate COIL into one core course each for fall 2024.
Selected faculty will receive:
- Assistance from OIP to select an appropriate partner (from existing university partners in East Asia and Europe)
- Travel funding to visit the selected partner this summer
- Assistance from the Biggio Center in instructional design
- Assistance from the Libraries in identifying necessary resources and technologies
Apply by May 6 using this form.
Through this pilot, OIP will learn best practices and create models on which faculty can build as a campus-wide COIL initiative is implemented.
