Register for Global Medallion Program fall courses

The Global Medallion Program, a micro-credential sponsored by the Office of International Programs (OIP) for students who wish to demonstrate their pursuit of a global mindset, is offering the two required program courses in fall 2024. Students may now register for the Global Mindset Orientation course (INTL 1500) and Global Mindset Capstone course (INTL 3980). 

Course details:

• INTL 1500 (1 credit hour): Tuesdays, 3-4 p.m. in Haley Center, room 2435
• INTL 3980 (2 credit hours): Mondays and Wednesdays, 2:30-3:30 p.m. in Haley Center, room 2454

Both courses will be delivered through a variety of engaging active-learning formats, including workshops, simulations, real-world case studies, scenario-based learning and guest lectures from international experts. The courses will also cover a variety of skill-focused topics, including cultural intelligence (CQ) assessments, cross-cultural communication, global business etiquette, understanding cultural differences, developing intercultural competence and building global teams.

In addition to the two required courses, students wishing to complete the Global Medallion are required to participate in a study, work, service and/or internship abroad or an equivalent intercultural experience.

Upon completion of the program, students receive:

• A one-year membership in the Phi Beta Delta Honor Society for International Scholars
• A digital badge to be displayed on their resume, LinkedIn or other professional platforms
• A credential certifying to potential employers that they have the global foundations to succeed in today's international work environment

In today's increasingly interconnected world, graduates need to be more than just academically qualified. They need the skills and knowledge to navigate diverse cultures, collaborate effectively in global team settings and thrive in a dynamic international marketplace. The Global Medallion Program is designed to equip students with the essential tools for success in today’s competitive globalized workforce and offer them a way to demonstrate a global mindset and intercultural skills to potential employers.
