On Friday, Oct. 11, Auburn University groups and employees have an opportunity to take part in the second annual Day of Caring for United Way of Lee County.
Day of Caring is a day of service in which local groups partner with nonprofits on projects that will make a difference in Auburn, Opelika and other area communities. Groups are asked to commit four hours to the project. (In many cases this will be from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., though afternoon slots may also be available.)
Auburn University employees can take advantage of their Community Service Leave (CSL) to participate in this special event. This is a great way to use the CSL benefit and make a positive impact in the local community.
Units that would like more information on Day of Caring, or would be interested in serving as a drive-drop off location for needed supplies, can call 745-5540 or email impact@unitedwayofleecounty.com.
