The Auburn University Music Project will offer beginner strings classes for students in grades 3-5 on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 4 p.m. from Sept. 3 to Dec. 3. During their first year, students will learn the basics of string playing in a group setting. Beginner students do not need to be able to read music. 

Tuition is $250 per semester plus a book and an instrumental rental fee if necessary. Classes will be held at the Jan Dempsey Community Arts Center, 222 E. Drake Ave. 

The semester will conclude with a concert on Tuesday, Dec. 3 at 6 p.m.

The Auburn University Music Project program aims to provide private and beginner group lessons on orchestral string, brass and woodwind instruments to local students, as well as practical hands-on training for Auburn University music and music education undergraduates.
