Auburn University Libraries will be marking Banned Books Week (aub.ie/bbooks) during the week of Sept. 22 through Sept. 28. This is a week celebrating the freedom to read and raising awareness surrounding attempts to ban or challenge books. Special events include:

  • A free showing of the film To Kill a Mockingbird based on Harper Lee’s Pulitzer Prize winning 1960 novel on Tuesday, Sept. 24 at 6 p.m. in RBD 2031 (Gibbs Lab).
  • A public banned book reading in the Mell Atrium on Thursday, Sept. 26 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Check out displays throughout the building, including in the Innovation and Research Commons, Special Collections and Archives, and near the Research Help Desk. Follow the libraries on social media for content on the celebration shared throughout the week.
