Timed to coincide with Open Access Week 2024, Auburn University Libraries will be changing the name of the university’s scholarly repository from AUrora to the Auburn University Scholarly Repository. This change is designed to be more descriptive of the service and make it easier to find in searches.
The Auburn University Scholarly Repository plays a key role in AU Libraries’ open access strategy. Any Auburn-affiliated researcher can deposit materials, and anyone on the web can view the contents. Launched in 2013, there are currently over 3500 items in the repository, including scholarly articles and book chapters, conference presentations, datasets, and research reports. Starting in 2020, each deposit received a digital object identifier, commonly known as a DOI, to improve discovery and allow more consistent citation. The repository serves as an important resource enabling public access to Auburn scholarship and receives over 12,000 views per year.
The name change will take effect immediately.
