The Office of the Provost and the Honors College are searching for a tenured, full professor for the position of Assistant Director for National Prestigious Scholarships. This position will form and execute a university-wide plan to increase student applications for national prestigious scholarships as well as provide leadership in supporting and mentoring students as they apply for these external fellowships.
Position: Assistant Director of National Prestigious Scholarships
Term: Renewable 30-month appointment from June 1, 2025; serves at the pleasure of the Honors College Director
Criteria:
Required: Tenured, Full Professor at Auburn University (at the time of application submission)
Preferred: Demonstrated leadership and management skills; ability to work to deadline. Demonstrated commitment to student mentoring. Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills. Demonstrated success with intercollegiate collaboration and coordination of student-facing programming.
Primary Responsibilities:
Forming and executing a university-wide plan to increase student applications for national prestigious scholarships.
Educating graduate and undergraduate students across campus about external scholarships and other highly competitive national/international opportunities.
Teaching a one-credit course every semester to further student preparation for NPS.
Overseeing internal selection process for external fellowships that require institutional endorsements.
Serving as Auburn’s endorsing agent for external fellowships.
Providing leadership in supporting and mentoring students as they apply for external fellowship applications and interviews.
