Auburn University will postpone the transition from a monthly to a biweekly payroll schedule.
At this time, Auburn is not specifying any date for a potential transition and will therefore refrain from communicating one. This postponement is beneficial for several reasons, including:
-
It allows us enough time to be thoughtful about timing and to be sure employees have appropriate time to prepare for the change.
-
It will allow us to be sensitive to contracts and grants accounting processes, especially given current changes from Washington.
In the next few days, payroll schedules will be updated and posted online. In the meantime, the following information may be helpful for employees who need to determine payroll dates beyond June:
-
Employees paid monthly will continue to be paid on the last weekday of the month. This schedule occurs every month.
-
Employees paid biweekly will continue to be paid every two weeks, on a Friday.
-
-
The two-week pay periods start on Sunday morning at 12:01 a.m. and end on Saturday night at midnight.
-
Payday will occur 14 days after the last listed pay date, and then every 14 days thereafter throughout 2025.
-
-
Employees paid semimonthly will continue to be paid twice per month, on the 15th (or preceding weekday if it falls on a weekend), and the last weekday of the month.
-
-
The first summer pay date is on the payroll calendar available on the UHR website.
-
Summer faculty will also be paid on the 15th (or preceding weekday if it falls on a weekend) and the last weekday of the month, with six summer pay dates.
-
The first fall semimonthly payroll will be on Aug. 29, the last weekday of August.
-
Auburn will continue to hire most FLSA-exempt employees as exempt biweekly to minimize disruption for them for any future conversion, but encourages anyone entering into the hiring process to talk with their HR Liaison for confirmation.
Employees with additional questions should contact their HR Liaison or email payroll@auburn.edu.
