the Auburn Creed

The Student Conduct Office addresses student behavior through the Code of Student Conduct. Student Conduct provides a fair, impartial, and educational process. The Code of Student Conduct guides students in addressing harmful behavior in the university community. Students are encouraged to read the Code of Student Conduct yearly to be informed on university policies and their rights and responsibilities as Auburn students. Students who are well-versed in university policies are less likely to violate them.

Violations covered in the Code of Student Conduct include, but are not limited to, misuse of alcohol, disorderly or lewd conduct, drug use, theft, hazing, threatening behavior, physical assault and vandalism.

Conduct outcomes or sanctions for violations of the Code of Student Conduct are generally educational in nature. They are designed to help students learn from their mistakes and make better choices in the future. Outcomes include community service hours, reflection papers, loss of student athletic event tickets or assignment to a course, seminar, training or educational intervention around alcohol and other drugs.

The Code of Student Conduct includes the Medical Assistance Policy, which empowers students to seek medical assistance for individuals who may be experiencing health-related complications from alcohol, drugs or other substances. Students are encouraged to familiarize themselves with the policy and to call 911 in the event of any emergency.
