Executive council leadership from Auburn's Interfraternity Council, National Pan-Hellenic Council, Panhellenic Council and Greek Auxiliary groups recently attended the Southeastern Greek Leadership Association (SGLA) annual conference in Atlanta.

The event brought together hundreds of fraternity and sorority leaders from across the southeast to celebrate excellence in leadership, philanthropy, community service and academic achievement. A total of 20 students represented Auburn at the conference.

"This event is an educational opportunity for our top student leaders represented across our three councils," said Lindsay Holdren, director of Greek Life. "Students learn practical information to apply in their new leadership roles. This is also an opportunity for our councils to be nationally recognized for the impact they make on campus through their programming efforts.”

Auburn was honored with several awards, highlighting the contributions the councils have made to the Greek community in the past year. The awards received included:

“I am deeply honored to have been nominated by my students here and to receive this award," said Summerhill. “I always remind myself to strive to be the advisor I needed when I was an undergrad, providing the support and guidance that can make a real difference in students' lives.”

While at SGLA, students had the opportunity to attendeducational sessions that spanned topics from best practices in fraternity and sorority operations to leadership and personal development.
“SGLA was a great opportunity for me to get to learn how to be a leader for this generation of students," said Maggie Lynch, Panhellenic vice president for recruitment. "It also inspired me to understand recruitment from the perspective of potential new members, allowing us to offer them the best possible experience.”

Auburn’s strong presence at SGLA reflects the dedication and hard work of its fraternity and sorority leaders. As these students return to campus, they bring fresh ideas and renewed enthusiasm to further strengthen and support the Auburn Greek experience.
