Four distinguished employees of Auburn were honored as Employees of the Year, highlighting their hard work and dedication to the university.
These employees, who were recognized at the Employee Recognition Program on May 2, were selected from among 46 recent Spirit of Excellence recipients. Each Employee of the Year received a $3,000 monetary award along with a handcrafted eagle sculpted from Alabama clay, sourced from a creek bed in the Coosa River in Wetumpka.
The Employees of the Year are:
- Erin Duffie, Biosystems Engineering, College of Agriculture – Administrative/Professional
- Ariel Rocker, Learning Resource Center, College of Education – Office Administration
- Dora Moore, Custodial Services, Facilities Management – Service/Maintenance
- Chelsy Hooper, Instructional Technology, Library – Technical/Paraprofessional
The Auburn University Foundation helped sponsor the monetary awards.
Three other employees were also recognized for 40 years of employment. Each employee received a Boston rocker engraved with the university logo and their name. These employees are:
- Margaret Bozeman, Library
- William Shaw, Media Production
- Cheryl Woodard, Harbert College of Business
More than 500 employees were recognized at theprogram, which was held at the Gogue Performing Arts Center. Honorees included years of service recipients, recent university graduates and graduates of Supervisor Pathways and Aspire Auburn.
President Christopher B. Roberts thanked employees for their service at the program, which was the final event of Employee Appreciation Week.
