Are you a graduate student seeking additional writing support? University Writing is here for you! We offer two programs specifically designed for graduate student writers. Join us for WriteFest and the Graduate Research & Writing Studio this summer!
Over four sessions, WriteFest participants will explore habits, skills and mindsets that support their well-being and productivity while working on long projects, and they will have dedicated time to write alongside peers in a supportive environment. This program is ideal for graduate students who are working on a long writing project, such as a thesis, dissertation or publication.
“WriteFest helps graduate students take control of their writing process by fostering habits that reduce stress and increase focus," said Pathmanathan Sivashankar, University Writing graduate assistant and WriteFest facilitator. "You don’t have to write alone; this space is built for collaboration, encouragement and to ignite your real progress in writing in a stress-free environment.”
Students can participate either in person, in the University Writing Studio (RBD Library 2056), or virtually, and are expected to attend all four sessions.
Coffee, tea and light refreshments are provided each week. Lunch will be provided for the final session.
Sessions will be held on the following dates from 11 a.m.-1 p.m., on May 28, June 4, June 11 and June 18. Please register for WriteFest by May 26.
The Graduate Research & Writing Studio is a weekly writing retreat with a graduate writing consultant and research librarian available to answer questions as needed. This program provides graduate students with the opportunity to write in a quiet space with expert assistance on hand.
Coffee, tea and light refreshments are provided. The Studio will meet on Tuesdays from May 27-July 29 from 1–4 p.m., in RBD Library 2056. Registration for the Studio is open until July 29.
