Auburn employees can take advantage of numerous professional development opportunities available through ElevatED, the university's Employee Education Center.  

Courses highlighted this month focus on mental well-being and financial literacy. Employees can gain practical tools and expert insights that can contribute to improved workplace performance, informed decision-making and overall life satisfaction.  

A few of the upcoming course offerings focused on wellness are listed below: 

  • June 13, PP105V, How Auburn University’s Retirement Plans Work: Gain a clear understanding of Auburn’s retirement savings options, including mandatory and voluntary plans. This session covers key planning concepts and answers your questions to help you make informed financial decisions. 

  • June 26, HW103C, Cultivating Mindfulness in the Workplace: Explore the nine pillars of mindfulness, such as patience, trust and gratitude, through relatable stories and practical examples. This course helps participants apply mindfulness principles to enhance well-being and workplace focus. 

  • June 26, FA101C, Financial Success Tools I Didn’t Learn in School: Learn essential financial skills including loan comprehension, interest rates and credit scores. This course provides practical tools and insights to help you make smarter borrowing decisions and improve financial literacy. 

  • June 26, PP104V, Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program: Discover how full-time Auburn employees may qualify for student loan forgiveness through the PSLF program. This session explains eligibility, required forms and how to get personalized guidance from Johnson Sterling, Inc. 

  • July 10, HW104C, The Wellness Wheel: How Well Are You Rolling?: Learn about the interconnected dimensions of wellness and how each contributes to overall balance. This session offers a holistic approach to maintaining well-being in both personal and professional life. 

  • July 11, HW106C, Zentangle: This course introduces the relaxing and creative practice of Zentangle, a method of drawing structured patterns to promote mindfulness. Participants will learn basic techniques, engage in guided practice and reflect on the experience. Ideal for stress relief and boosting creativity. No artistic background needed. 

  • July 11, PP106V, Retirement Planning for Tier II Employees: Understand how Tier II retirement works and how to supplement it with voluntary retirement plans. Presented by Johnson Sterling, this session helps you plan effectively for your financial future.
