Construction fencing surrounding the Melton Student Center patio renovation.

Construction fencing has been installed around the Melton Student Center for the patio renovation project.

The comprehensive renovation of Comer Hall and the patio renovation at the Melton Student Center are underway with construction fencing recently installed at both capital project locations.

Comer Hall
This project will transform all four levels of the 45,000-square-foot facility. Upgrades include modern academic spaces, updated building systems, enhanced accessibility with a new elevator, exterior restoration and refreshed finishes and furnishings.

Comer occupants have been temporary relocated to Haley Center for the duration of the project, which is expected to be completed toward the end of the 2026 fall semester.

Melton Student Center
Spanning approximately 21,200 square feet, the revitalized patio will feature engaging outdoor study zones, multi-purpose lounge areas and space for small-scale events. Plans also include an event lawn with tiered seating, audio-visual enhancements and significant landscaping and hardscaping improvements. The project is expected to be complete in the 2025 fall semester.

More information on these projects and others can be found on the Facilities Management Capital Projects page.

Additional updates
In August, construction fences will be installed for repairs at Cater Hall and the demolition of Spidle Hall.

Facilities Management extends its sincere thanks to the campus community for its continued patience and support as Auburn progresses with projects that reflect its commitment to enhancing campus life and creating welcoming, functional spaces for students, faculty and staff.
