We’ve got exciting news — Auburn Abroad has officially moved. You can now find us in 100 MW Smith Hall.

This move is more than just a change of address; it’s a reflection of how much Auburn University’s passion for global experiences has grown over the years.

Did you know in the 2024-25 school year, 1,730 Auburn students went abroad? This is reflective of the university's overall 2035 plan to increase the international efforts and education of its students.

The former location, Foy Hall, was home to countless advising sessions, Study Abroad 101s and program brainstorms that made study abroad a reality for so many. However, as more and more people began asking, “How can I take my Auburn experience abroad?” the office in Foy could no longer contain the growing excitement, ideas and opportunities that students and faculty were ready to explore.

And that’s a great thing. More students are realizing the value of studying abroad — whether it’s spending a semester in Europe, a summer in Asia or a faculty-led trip that brings classroom learning to life in another country.

For example, The Forum on Education Abroad just released a study on salaries that showed students who studied abroad earn on average 6.3% more in their first job after graduation than those who did not. Recognizing that and all the other benefits of study abroad, Auburn knew it was time to find a space that could grow with Auburn Abroad.

“Our office move has been a long time coming. Study abroad is becoming a sought-after part of the college experience, and we can now accommodate the growing interest," said Mariel Goble, Auburn Abroad director. "With a bigger office, our team can now have the space to work with students on a more individualized level and help students find the right program that will give them the study abroad experience they're looking for."

That’s where MW Smith Hall comes in. The new office in Suite 100 provides more space to meet with students, host info sessions and create a welcoming hub for international opportunities. It will allow the team to better serve students, faculty and campus partners — and to keep building a strong culture of global learning at Auburn.

But it’s not just about having more room. Moving to MW Smith Hall represents the future of Auburn. The space brings new opportunities to connect more deeply with students, to dream even bigger about new programs and to help more students and faculty take their education beyond the Plains.

Come by and see the new home at 100 MW Smith Hall. Whether you’re just curious about studying abroad, already planning your trip or looking for ways to make your global dreams a reality — the doors are open, and the team can’t wait to help you join the adventure.
