Auburn University will host a World Cup friendly between Argentina and Iceland on Tuesday, June 9, at 7:30 p.m. CDT, in Jordan-Hare Stadium. Significant campus traffic and visitors are expected throughout the day.
GAMEDAY MODE – 3 P.M. CDT
Campus will go into “gameday mode” at 3 p.m. This is the most secure setting for our campus buildings. Exterior building doors will be locked. Only individuals who have approved gameday access granted by their department, college or unit will be able to enter their respective buildings. This operational plan mirrors procedures used during home football gamedays.
STAFF AND A&P EMPLOYEES – WORK REMOTELY, IF POSSIBLE
Employees who work in the core of campus are encouraged to work remotely on June 9, if job responsibilities allow. Employees should discuss work arrangements with their supervisors. Remote work for June 9 is at the supervisor’s discretion. All employees will be paid their normal rate for that day.
FACULTY, ADVISORS AND STAFF INVOLVED IN CAMP WAR EAGLE
Employees involved in Camp War Eagle activities are expected to remain on campus through the end of Camp War Eagle on June 9.
OFFICE OF THE PROVOST – ACADEMIC AFFAIRS GUIDANCE
Each college will determine the appropriate instructional approach for June 9. The Dean and/or the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs will communicate its decision to the college. Associate Deans for Academic Affairs should work directly with department heads and faculty teaching in-person courses.
Options may include:
- Holding classes in person as scheduled
- Teaching remotely for the day
- Making course-specific adjustments as needed
After 3 p.m., campus will transition to gameday mode. Faculty should plan to move instruction online or reschedule the class to an alternative time that works for all students. Students should be notified in advance of any course changes and syllabus updates.
CAMPS/CONFERENCES
- Drop-off/Pick-ups – We encourage parents and participants to please work with their camp staff on details regarding any changes in their transportation routine for June 9.
- Dining facilities – The EDGE will be open to students and scheduled camps/conferences only on June 9. Other dining option updates are available on the Campus Dining website.
