Beginning Aug. 1, TES employees will transition to Mobile Tiger ID as their official Auburn University form of identification. TES employee accounts will be defaulted to mobile-only credential use, and physical Tiger ID cards will no longer be active or issued, advancing the university's transition to a mobile-first campus.
The move aligns with Auburn's mobile-first model introduced for students in 2024 and reflects the university's continued investment in providing a more convenient, secure and seamless campus experience.
Mobile Tiger ID allows users to securely carry their university credential on a smartphone or smartwatch, eliminating the need for a physical ID card while enhancing security through device authentication and the ability to remotely disable credentials if a device is lost or stolen. Mobile credentials also provide faster, contactless access to campus facilities and services.
In addition to the transition for TES employees, Auburn encourages all eligible Main Campus employees to activate and use Mobile Tiger ID. Employee mobile credentials are currently available to Main Campus employees only.
