1. What is your role in the College of Education?

I’m an Associate Professor of Educational Leadership in the Department of Educational Foundations, Leadership, and Technology

2. How long have you worked at Auburn?

This is my 7th year at Auburn

3. What are some new initiatives you are working on now?

I’m currently working on two interconnected projects. The first project involves conducting a series of simulations to explore the impact of school funding on students, in light of the legislature’s proposed changes to the funding structure of schools in our state. The second project involves developing an Alabama school effectiveness dashboard. Collaborating with students from the Computer Science department, we are utilizing machine learning and generative AI to identify unique combinations of strategies tailored to each school, which could potentially enhance student outcomes in Alabama.

4. What is a part of your job you are especially proud of?

If anything I’ve ever written or worked on has, in any way, helped better schools here in Alabama, then I’ve done my job.

5. What is a fun fact about yourself?

When I was 14 I learned how to clap with one hand. And it does, indeed, make a sound.
