Faculty Spotlight: Margaret Flores

1. What is your role in the College of Education? 

Professor and Program Director of Special Education.

2. How long have you worked at Auburn?

Since 2008.

3. What are some new initiatives you are working on now?

I conduct research in mathematics interventions for students with and at risk of having disabilities. I am working on program changes to ensure that our preservice teachers are prepared according to the Numeracy Act.

4. What is a part of your job you are especially proud of?

I am proud that our graduates are sought after by school districts across the state, I am proud of the impact of our research efforts in local schools.

5. What is a fun fact about yourself?

March Madness is my favorite holiday.
