1. What is your role in the College of Education?
I am the operations coordinator for the EAGLES Program.
2. How long have you worked at Auburn?
Including my time as a temporary services employee, I’m coming up on two years in my current full-time role. I have only worked for the EAGLES Program.
3. What are some new initiatives you are working on now?
We have experienced profound growth with the EAGLES program since I began working full-time. Our team and I have implemented many initiatives over the last year and are now working on perfecting them. Specifically, I’m proud of recent efforts to simplify our subscriber list to an easier-to-use platform. We have nearly 2,000 subscribers, and manually filtering emails was becoming cumbersome! It's not perfect, but it makes it much easier to communicate news to our audiences. Right now, I’m working on some new promotional products for the program and am working on perfecting using a new platform to manage our registrations and distribution lists. Because these are already new initiatives, I look forward to making them better!
4. What is a part of your job you are especially proud of?
When I look at my job, I’m most proud of the relationships I’ve developed. I enjoy finding ways to solve problems and value the people who have helped me grow and develop while I’ve been at Auburn. This community and Auburn University have allowed me to connect with people willing to help me, enabling the program to succeed. I’ve found that the people willing to help are the ones who value Auburn’s mission and want to see everyone succeed. That is invaluable and something I’m especially proud of!
5. What is a fun fact about yourself?
This is a hard one! In my early 20s, I raised money through a charity to run my first marathon in Honolulu, Hawaii. Because of the charity, I had a roommate I’d never met. She did the same thing as me, and like me, she knew no one. We decided we’d make the best of the trip and had a blast exploring the island. It also happened to be the anniversary of the bombing of Pearl Harbor, so we visited that area also. We never exchanged information, so we never saw each other again after the marathon!
