Jason Bryant

1. What is your role in the College of Education? 

I am the director of the Truman Pierce Institute and Clinical Professor of Education Leadership.

2. How long have you worked at Auburn?

I began January 2016

3. What are some new initiatives you are working on now?

Our largest initiative is our statewide GEAR UP Achieve grant working with 8th graders in seven regions across the state. This is the second year of the grant and many of the activities this year for helped to begin the transition to high school. Each region has a school liaison that is implementing services for each of their assigned schools. We are also in the process of creating our summer camp schedules for both GEAR UP Achieve and 21st CCLC. This summer each group will have a weeklong residential camp opportunity, and we can accommodate 30 students. We will offer campers are variety of activities on campus along with several field trips to expose them to areas outside of Auburn University.

4. What is a part of your job you are especially proud of?

I am most proud of the work that I get to do each day working with a group of amazing colleagues! I think about the hours of professional development, training, and conferences that we attend and the impact that we are making across the state. The work I do from this office connects with multiple stakeholders, creating a ripple effect that strengthens collaboration, drives innovation, and ultimately enhances educational opportunities for students across the state.

5. What is a fun fact about yourself?

I love to bake cakes in my spare time. Red Velvet is by far the crowd favorite!
