Cassie Boze

In Auburn’s College of Education, the Learning Resources Center provides informational and instructional resources and technologies to the faculty, staff and students, and Cassie Boze has played a key role in its operation for the past six years. Recently, her valuable work was recognized by the university with the June Spirit of Excellence award.

“I try my best to make sure folks have what they need and are having a good experience with us,” Boze said.  “When that’s affirmed, it lets me know I’m on the right track.”

As IT Manager, Boze manages a team of four, and together they make sure that the technological needs of the College of Education are met in a variety of ways.

“We help with a range of tech issues,” Boze said. “That may involve anything from troubleshooting a printer to working with a vendor to secure software or hardware for research or teaching.”

Boze began working with the College of Education in 2019 as an IT specialist but transitioned to IT manager in 2023. Her valuable work in the college has been recognized in multiple ways in the past year—in addition to her Spirit of Excellence award, Boze was one of three recipients of the Dean’s Leadership Award at the College of Education’s 44th annual Awards Recognition Ceremony this spring.

Susan Bannon, director of the Learning Resources Center and Boze’s supervisor, expressed appreciation for Boze’s contributions.

“I am thrilled that Cassie was honored with a Spirit of Excellence award in recognition of her commitment to providing outstanding IT services to the College of Education,” Bannon said. “Her dedication as our IT manager inspires the IT team and her Learning Resources Center colleagues. Receiving this award highlights Cassie's achievements and her positive impact on her IT work in our college and at Auburn University.”

For Boze, the people she works with—both in the College of Education and across campus—are at the heart of her job.

“I love how Auburn employees are invested in Auburn,” Boze said. “I work with a lot of folks in and out of the College of Education who are dedicated not only to their jobs and their units, but also to Auburn University as a whole. They work in ways that are good for people and for Auburn. I value working in that kind of community.”
