Auburn University’s annual Spring Education Interview Day took place on Wednesday, allowing students interested in a career in education to connect with representatives from school districts all over the country in the College of Education Building.

Offered by Auburn University Career Discovery and Success and the College of Education, the event is held each spring and fall. Students of all majors were invited to learn more about education-related job opportunities from a wide variety of school districts, including those in Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee, Florida, Louisiana, Kentucky, South Carolina, Texas and even Nevada.

Maddy Messick, who is pursuing her master’s degree in elementary education, attended Interview Day and spoke with several districts ahead of her spring graduation date.

“I love Interview Day!” Messick said. “I got to meet superintendents, assistant superintendents, county employees and principals all at the same event. It was so great to make those connections and learn how to stay connected moving forward.”

In addition to interviews, attendees had the opportunity to have professional headshots taken and to speak with representatives from Auburn’s College of Education about its programs and degrees.

“Education Interview Day is the biggest perk to being a College of Education student,” Messick said. “Everyone asks if I've applied to schools, but I always tell them about Interview Day because it makes the whole process easier. Not only do they have representatives from schools where most of us have had practicum experiences and internships, but also included are schools from across the country that we may not even be familiar with.”

Students interested in a career in education should check the College of Education calendar this fall for details related to the next Education Interview Day.
