Six Auburn faculty members have been selected as the Graduate Student Council’s 2026 Outstanding Graduate Mentors.

This year’s recipients are:

  • Nadia Bhuiyan, Psychological Sciences, College of Liberal Arts
  • Wi-Suk Kwon, Consumer & Design Sciences, College of Human Sciences
  • Brooks Mobley, School of Kinesiology, College of Education
  • Missie Smith, Industrial & Systems Engineering, Samuel Ginn College of Engineering
  • Jim Stoeckel, Fisheries, Aquaculture & Aquatic Sciences, College of Agriculture
  • Janna Willoughby, Wildlife Sciences, College of Forestry, Wildlife & Environment

The Graduate Student Council (GSC) recognizes faculty members who go above and beyond their duty as teachers, advisors, and mentors. This annual award is a special honor, as nominations and winners are determined entirely by graduate students. Nominations are reviewed by GSC Senators who serve on the awards review committee, and the top candidates then selected and notified.

The 2026 Outstanding Graduate Mentors were recognized along with other student and staff award recipients at the Graduate Awards Ceremony on April 24 in the Melton Student Center. The Graduate Student Council has presented the Outstanding Graduate Mentor Awards since 2008.
