Though the Walt and Ginger Woltosz Rooftop Terrace at the Tony and Libba Rane Culinary Science Center may be home to Walt's on the Roof by night, this space is open to students until 3 p.m. each day.
For those who prefer to study outdoors:
The Woltosz Rooftop Terrace at the Rane Culinary Science Center
Though the Walt and Ginger Woltosz Rooftop Terrace at the Tony and Libba Rane Culinary Science Center may be home to Walt's on the Roof by night, this space is open to students until 3 p.m. each day. Boasting unbeatable views of Samford Hall and gorgeous garden spaces, this spot is a favorite among students. One student shared that this terrace is their favorite study spot because "there are spaces to sit in the sun, umbrellas for shade and usually a nice breeze." The ambiance of this College of Human Sciences staple is unbeatable.
Gavin Terrace at Horton-Hardgrave Hall
If you find yourself wanting to extend your rooftop study time past 3 p.m., look no further than the rooftop terrace at Horton-Hardgrave Hall. Located at the heart of the Harbert College of Business, this study space offers breathtaking views of Jordan-Hare Stadium that will inspire school spirit in even the weariest studiers. The Gavin Terrace is open from 8 a.m.-10 p.m. daily, making this a great spot for sunset studying.
For those who need a little pick-me-up:
Thrive Here @Auburn
What could be better than a local coffee shop that takes dining dollars? Thrive Here @Auburn, located on the first floor of the Rane Culinary Science Center, is a micro-coffee roastery and café that doubles as a learning lab for students in the Horst Schulze School of Hospitality Management. Students can enjoy an artisan coffee or a seasonal pastry from one of Thrive's indoor or outdoor seating locations. Open from 7 a.m.- 6 p.m. daily, this spot is perfect for anyone looking to fuel up for their studies.
Harold D. Melton Student Center Starbucks
For those who want a more robust menu, Starbucks is a great choice. Located on the first floor of the Melton Student Center, Starbucks provides a warm environment and tried-and-true menu classics, including sandwiches and pastries. One student said, “I like how the Student Center location is centrally located on campus and has plenty of places to sit. The natural light and comfortable atmosphere help me focus while studying.” Starbucks is open from 7 a.m.-9 p.m. on Monday-Thursday, 7 a.m.-5 p.m. on Friday, and 9 a.m.-5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
For those who prefer peace and quiet:
Ralph Brown Draughon Library
Boasting an expansive collection of study rooms, whiteboard space and academic resources, Draughon Library is a favorite among students for a reason. For those seeking a space with limited distractions, the fourth floor offers a dedicated quiet space. Students who want to ensure they have a spot on their preferred floor to study can reserve private study rooms in advance. One student said, "During finals or midterm week, it makes studying so much easier knowing that I'll have a spot to study, especially when it gets super crowded. I have used this resource quite a bit during my time at Auburn." With finals approaching, the library is a tried-and-true hotspot for effective study sessions. To find the library’s hours, visit the Draughon Library website.
Academic Classroom Laboratory Complex (ACLC)
The ACLC is typically home to STEM courses, but students from all disciplines love the study space this building offers. With lots of natural light, a quiet atmosphere and brand-new furnishings, the ACLC is a less crowded alternative to Ralph Brown Draughon Library. Students who would like a large, private study space are able to reserve classrooms. The ACLC is conveniently located next to The Edge dining hall, making it a great spot for students looking to study before or after meals.

For students who can't stand silence, Hey Day Market and its surrounding green space provides an atmosphere that is both lively and conducive to studying.
For those who prefer a little background noise:
Hey Day Market
For students who can't stand silence, Hey Day Market and its surrounding green space provides an atmosphere that is both lively and conducive to studying. One student said, "I especially like this location because it's shady and comfortable but also has enough activity to keep me energized and inspired." Although Hey Day Market seems to always be bustling, there are plenty of indoor and outdoor seating options to accommodate all studiers. As an added perk, multiple students said that Hey Day has the best food you can get with dining dollars. Open from 10:30 a.m. -9 p.m. daily, this gem is the perfect spot for long study sessions.
