Ajin Industry, one of Hyundai Motor Group's primary suppliers, presented a $100,000 donation to Auburn University's Korea Corner as part of its commitment to giving back to the community.

Auburn University's Korea Corner held a donation ceremony and a report on the 2024 Global Education Studies Program, supported by AJIN INDUSTRY, at Auburn University on Friday, July 19, with AJIN INDUSTRY Chairman Jung Ho Seo, Auburn University President and outreach program officials.

AJIN INDUSTRY's relationship with Auburn University's Korea Corner dates back to 2011. As Korean automakers and their suppliers expanded their presence in Alabama, the number of Korean students exploded, and it was essential for frontline teachers to understand Korea to help them settle in quickly. In response, Auburn University Korea Corner developed a global education research program for school board officials and in-service teachers to gain insight into Korean culture, society, and education and was able to launch the program in 2011 and 2012, fully funded by AJIN INDUSTRY. Since then, AJIN has sponsored the program with other Korean automotive suppliers over the years and has been an active supporter of Auburn University's Korea Corner for 14 years. In celebration of AJIN's expansion into Georgia, AJIN has also fully funded the 2024 Global Education Studies Program.

This year, 15 educators and teachers from Block, Evan and Kendler counties in Georgia, along with Yoo Dong Woo, Assistant Director of Auburn University's Office of Professional and Continuing Education, and KoreaCorps Coordinator Jenny Lee, visited South Korea from June 2 to June 13. In Gyeongsan, the group visited Samsung County Elementary School, Gyeongsan Science High School, and Kyungil University to receive lectures and experience the Korean education system. Afterward, they visited historical cities such as Gyeongju, Andong, and Seoul to experience the history and culture of Korea.

The participants will join 90 Alabama educators who participated in the previous Global Education Fellowship program in Auburn this November for a gathering to share their experiences.
