More than 4,500 Auburn University alumni, friends, parents and students came together on Sept. 10, to raise over $875,000 for important causes across campus.

The day of giving, known as Tiger Giving Day, celebrated its 10th anniversary and provided an online platform for projects to solicit for needed funds. This year, 46 projects found support through the generosity of the Auburn Family.

On the day, donors had the opportunity to share — via survey — about what inspired them to give. Many were motivated so that others may experience what Auburn has to offer. Others shared that the unique structure of Tiger Giving Day offered an opportunity to know specifically how donations would be used.

One project that benefitted immediately from Tiger Giving Day donors was the College of Sciences and Mathematics Outreach Destination STEM initiative. Achieving a goal of more than $15,000 from 146 donors, Outreach program co-coordinator Karen Dane said the funds will provide a much-needed improvement in their hosting venue.

“Thanks to our amazing donor support on Tiger Giving Day, we will upgrade the STEM Expo to Neville Arena — welcoming more than 1,000 middle schoolers from nine nearby counties to explore interactive STEM exhibits at their own pace in Auburn’s first-class facilities,” she said.

“I’m especially excited that both the Destination STEM Expo and Summit will remain free for invited schools, and that we’ll be able to offer transportation grants to help students attend.”

Another project that saw success on the day was the Veterans Resource Center's Rucksacks to Backpacks program. They raised $25,264 from 241 donors, funds that provide a tangible benefit for student veterans.

“The Rucksacks to Backpacks program supports student veterans with needed technology to help them succeed academically,” said Jeff Dyal, center coordinator. “This initiative is one shining example of how the Auburn Family helps alleviate some financial stress for student veterans to keep them working toward their academic goals.”

The 11th annual day of giving is set for March 25, 2026.
