Teaching with Artificial Intelligence (AI), the online non-credit course created by Auburn University’s Biggio Center, received the Outstanding Program: Noncredit Award at this year’s UPCEA Annual Conference in Boston, Massachusetts. The award recognizes outstanding professional and continuing education programs.

Adopted by the SEC’s 14 institutions and in use throughout the Alabama Community College System’s 24 two-year schools, the online interactive course offers AI principles and best practices through active participation and collaborative interfaces. With 8 modules, faculty and instructors can explore policies and the ethical considerations of incorporating AI into their courses, earning an AUAI Explorer digital badge upon completion. Designed by the same team that designs Auburn’s online degree programs, the online course continues to receive positive reviews from participants.

"Thank you to our UPCEA peers for recognizing Auburn's commitment to pedagogical innovation with this award," said Asim Ali, executive director of the Biggio Center. "I am grateful for my talented Biggio colleagues who live the Auburn Creed through their hard work."

UPCEA, an online and professional education association, has been recognizing individual and institutional achievement across its membership since 1953 with its prestigious awards presented at annual conference. The association offers research, professional development, networking and mentorship to its members, supporting them in reinventing higher education.

Teaching with AI is available for anyone to purchase to take online at www.aub.ie/teachwithai. It is provided at no cost to Auburn University Faculty and Staff. Institutions interested in a site license for their campus should contact the Biggio Center via email at biggio1@auburn.edu.
