Jillian Rager, Course Support Coordinator for Academic Support at Auburn University, has been awarded the Outstanding New Supplemental Instruction Supervisor Award at the thirteenth International Conference on Supplemental Instruction (ICSI) in Baltimore, Maryland.
Rager, a two-time Auburn graduate, has been with the Supplemental Instruction (SI) program since 2018 when she joined first as an SI Leader, then as a graduate Assistant while pursuing her Masters in Higher Education Administration. She now serves as Coordinator for Course Support, a role that utilizes her varied experiences and in-depth knowledge of the SI program and Auburn’s community.
"When excellence is the standard, Jillian Rager doesn't just meet it; she redefines it,” said Jaime Miller, director of Academic Support. “Her well-deserved international recognition isn't only a testament to her knowledge of SI and skill as a supervisor to high-achieving students serving as SI leaders; her contributions in Academic Support serve as a beacon for all of us in the office and in the field of higher education."
The award is given to an SI Supervisor who has held the role for less than two years in total. Candidates for the award must exhibit leadership that results in quality and sustained improvement within their programs via adherence to core principles, campus engagement, leader development and support, excellence in quality of service, program evaluation and integration with other campus activities.
In addition to this recognition, Rager has also presented at the 2024 and 2022 ICSI conferences, along with the 2022 and 2023 International College Learning Center Association (formerly NCLCA) conferences.
“It is incredible to be honored by the ICSI for these accomplishments in my second year as coordinator,” said Rager. “It serves as evidence of the care, dedication, and support of the SI Leaders, our Graduate Assistant, the Academic Support team, the faculty and the students.”
