White House, EAB and Google Health leaders to speak at Alabama Higher Education AI Exchange

National leaders from the White House, EAB, and Google Health will headline the Alabama Higher Education AI Exchange: Classroom to Career on July 21 at Auburn University, where they will explore how AI is reshaping higher education and the workforce.

Hosted by Auburn University's Biggio Center for the Enhancement of Teaching and Learning (Biggio Center), the statewide event will feature three keynote speakers: Amy Bontrager, director at the U.S. Digital Service within the Executive Office of the President, Jon Barnhart, director of research advisory services for EAB, and Peter Clardy, director of clinical enterprise at Google Health.

The speakers will share insights on how organizations are preparing for AI-enabled change, adapting to evolving workforce needs and navigating opportunities and challenges presented by rapidly advancing technologies.

"We're excited to welcome leaders whose work is shaping how organizations approach AI," said Asim Ali, executive director of the Biggio Center. "From government modernization to healthcare innovation, attendees will hear firsthand how AI is transforming decision-making, workforce development and organizational strategy."

Bontrager and Barnhart will discuss organizational readiness, workforce transformation, leadership strategies, and skills needed to thrive in an AI-driven economy. Clardy will provide perspectives on how AI is transforming clinical decision-making, healthcare operations and the future workforce.

Auburn University President Christopher B. Roberts will welcome participants to the event, bringing together faculty, staff, administrators, students, business leaders and workforce professionals to explore AI’s growing role in higher education and workforce development. The event will feature educators and professionals from critical industries in Alabama, including manufacturing; data and business analytics; AI literacy; banking and finance; cybersecurity; and ethics and public trust.

The Alabama Higher Education AI Exchange will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on July 21 in Auburn University's Academic Classroom and Laboratory Complex. Registration is open, and additional event information is available at aub.ie/aiexchange.
