Teams were questioned by judges on financials, market shares, product availability, etc. To support their business plans, the 2025 Tiger Cage competition provided startup capital to all teams that placed in the final six including a series of special awards.

Which event does Kirsty Coventry still hold a record for at Auburn?

Coventry was a standout for the Tigers the moment she walked on campus at Auburn. Helping the Orange and Blue to its first National Championship in a Women's sport in 2002, the Zimbabwe native also aided the Tigers to two more Team Titles in 2003 and 2004 and was the top individual point scorer at the 2005 Championships.

In total, Coventry racked up seven national titles, 25 All-American honors, was named the SEC Swimmer of the Year as well as the conference Female Athlete of the Year in 2004-05, and picked up the Honda Sports Award in 2005, recognizing the most outstanding female swimming of the year. Her 200 back record on the Plains still stands to this day.

Where did Bryant Smith play basketball after his time in Auburn?

Assistant Extension Professor Camila Rodrigues, supervisor of Auburn's Produce Safety Lab, is studying whether essential oils can be used for food safety in organic fruit and vegetable production. Rodrigues, with postdoctoral fellow Jessica Pizzo, tested oregano and winter savory essential oils on three different types of lettuce — romaine, crisphead and butterhead — in a postharvest washing system. They found the essential oils were extremely effective in limiting E. coli cross-contamination for all lettuce types and are a healthy and sustainable alternative to traditionally used sterilizing chemicals.

Rodrigues and Pizzo are continuing to research the possibilities of using essential oils to sanitize produce, focusing on finding the best concentrations for different types of produce and bacteria strains and exploring the possible long-term effects on produce quality and sanitization equipment.
