Auburn University will welcome nearly 1,900 students into the ranks of alumni at its 2023 fall commencement ceremonies at Neville Arena on Dec. 9.

Award-winning designer and 1989 Auburn alumnus Thomas Dempsey — founder and CEO of SylvanSport and a renowned outdoor industry and policy expert — will address the newly minted graduates in Neville Arena. A trio of ceremonies is set for 8 a.m., 1 p.m. and 6 p.m. CT, and the festivities will be streamed live online.

Each ceremony features the conferral of degrees, greetings by university officials and the recognition of students graduating with academic honors. Tickets are required for entry, and all graduates and guests must access Neville Arena through the main entrance, with the scholarship entrance reserved only for those with accessibility needs. Ceremony start times for Saturday will be 8 a.m. for the College of Architecture, Design and Construction, College of Forestry, Wildlife and Environment, College of Liberal Arts and the College of Sciences and Mathematics. Graduates from the College of Agriculture, Samuel Ginn College of Engineering, College of Human Sciences and the College of Nursing follow at 1 p.m., with the Harbert College of Business and College of Education set for the 6 p.m. ceremony.

Auburn will award a total of 1,823 degrees, including 1,298 bachelor’s degrees, 390 master’s degrees, 123 doctorates, 11 specialist degrees and one Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. Since Auburn began granting degrees in 1856, the institution has awarded 322,603 degrees.
